NALC’S STAR COUNCIL AWARDS
NALC is delighted to invite entries to the Star Council Awards, which we are running for the fifth successive year in 2019.
The awards are a fantastic opportunity for local councils, councillors, clerks and county associations to showcase how they have made a positive difference locally. They are the only national awards in England to recognise the contribution local councils make to their communities.
This year, the theme of the awards will be focusing on local council projects that have engaged with their communities and made a positive impact on them. We are encouraging anyone who has made a difference to people living in their area to put themselves forward.
Over the years, the awards have received hundreds of nominations from every corner of England. This year, NALC would like to build on that success and see even more nominations submitted by councils, county associations, community members and MPs.
We will celebrate the local council sector’s achievements through five categories: young councillor (aged 18-30), councillor, clerk, council of the year and county association project of the year.
To give you more of a say on who wins, once again this year the the Council of the Year category will be decided by a public vote.
Being a Star Council Award winner not only gives local councils national recognition for the services they have provided to their community, but also allows them to share their expertise with their peers. Winners will be announced at an awards dinner at the NALC Annual Conference, taking place on 28 October 2019 at DoubleTree by Hilton in Milton Keynes.
Entrants have until 28 June 2019 to submit their entries.
