|You will have seen recent press coverage of the increasing number of experts calling for ‘play not catch-up’ as we ease out of lockdown. The calls for a ‘summer of play’ are growing louder as the way to help children recover from the last year of restrictions.
The API is planning a campaign starting this week to highlight how instrumental playgrounds will be in delivering a summer of play to children and we need your support. The importance of playgrounds can get overlooked when in fact, they are the prime location for children’s play. 1 in 8 UK households have no garden and without public playgrounds the children in those households would have nowhere to play. 9 out of 10 parents without access to a playground say that if they had a one nearby it would make their children play outside more.
