Coronavirus update from NALC – 3rd November 2020 – Remembrance Sunday

The government has stated through various communication channels that outdoor Remembrance Sunday services at war memorials and local cenotaphs can still take place, but they should be reduced in size and observe strict social distancing. Communal services of remembrance inside places of worship will not be possible due to the new national restrictions. The government guidance on local authority preparations for Remembrance Sunday has not been updated yet but is due to updated shortly. We have stressed the importance of clear guidance being issued quickly in discussions with civil servants this week. We will notify members when this guidance has been updated.
