Bardney Group Parish Council - vacancy for a Clerk/RFO

This role is office-based at Bardney Group Parish Council.

The Parish Council's responsibilities include cemetery management, allotments, grass cutting, and village maintenance. 

Role requirements:

  • The ability to set agendas for full council and sub-committees and attend all appropriate council meetings.

  • To have good communication/people skills, excellent written and verbal skills, and a good knowledge of bookkeeping and budget planning, ability to meet deadlines, good organisational skills, and proficiency with IT including website updates.

  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of local government procedures, finance, and law.

  • Have the willingness to attend relevant LALC clerk training courses as required by the council and/or seminars on the work role of the clerk.

  • Be required to also attend additional evening or daytime meetings.

  • Be willing to undertake any other duties as they may be reasonably required from time to time.   

Salary: Dependent on experience and in accordance with NJC National pay scales. (£14.60 -£19.86 per hour).

Hours: 20 hours per week (typically 9.30am to 3.00pm Tue Wed Thu) with spare hours used for evening meetings.
