Coningsby Town Council - vacancy for Assistant Clerk


Location: Town Office, Silver Street, Coningsby, LN4 4RA

Hours: Part time - 10 hours per week

Rate: £15.08 per hour


Coningsby Town Council is seeking a motivated and organised Assistant Clerk to support the effective running of our council operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is community-minded, professional, and eager to contribute to local governance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Council Clerk

  • Assist with preparing agendas, reports, and meeting minutes

  • Support the coordination of council meetings, events, and public communications

  • Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and documentation

  • Assist with financial administration, including invoices and budgeting support

  • Respond to enquiries from councillors, residents, and partner organisations

  • Ensure compliance with council policies, procedures, and statutory requirements


Experience & Skills (Experience Preferred)

  • Previous experience in local government administration or similar clerical role desirable

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping

  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines

  • A proactive and flexible approach to workloads
