Coningsby Town Council - vacancy for Assistant Clerk
Location: Town Office, Silver Street, Coningsby, LN4 4RA
Hours: Part time - 10 hours per week
Rate: £15.08 per hour
Coningsby Town Council is seeking a motivated and organised Assistant Clerk to support the effective running of our council operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is community-minded, professional, and eager to contribute to local governance.
Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and clerical support to the Council Clerk

Assist with preparing agendas, reports, and meeting minutes

Support the coordination of council meetings, events, and public communications

Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and documentation

Assist with financial administration, including invoices and budgeting support

Respond to enquiries from councillors, residents, and partner organisations

Ensure compliance with council policies, procedures, and statutory requirements
Experience & Skills (Experience Preferred)

Previous experience in local government administration or similar clerical role desirable

Strong organisational and communication skills

Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital record-keeping

Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
