Online Chair's Workshop

This training session will suit Chairs of parish and town councils, Chairs of Committees, Vice Chairs and aspiring Chairs.  

Topics covered will include 

  • Skills required

  • Managing meetings

  • Working with the Clerk, other councillors and officers

  • Planning for success 

  • Understanding your Standing Orders, Financial Regulations and Code of Conduct

  • Accountability

  • Community engagement

It will be assumed that you have some prior knowledge about being a Councillor so should have read 'The Good Councillor Guide' (available on LALC website - 'Key Documents') or attended a recent Councillor induction and refresher course or have built up experience as a councillor.
