EAST KEAL, WEST KEAL & KEAL COATES

Residents of three local villages, East Keal, West Keal and Keal Cotes, have come together to form The Keals’ Platinum Jubilee Committee.  We decided to organise a weekend of free events for residents to come and celebrate together.  We have been busy hosting lots of fundraising events over the last 6 months to ensure that attendees can turn up and enjoy the event without worrying how much it could cost them.  This was really important to us.  East Keal Parish Council have kindly donated £120 to cover half the cost of toilet hire.  West Keal and Keal Cotes Parish Council kindly donated £50 to the event.

We have arranged the following:

Saturday 4th June from 10am till 4pm at The Keals’ Village Hall a Family Fun Day.  There will be Royal Scarecrows with a Quiz, Jubilee Themed Outdoor Games, Memorabilia Display, Music, Raffle and Refreshments.

Sunday 5th June from 12pm till 5pm at Manor Farm, East Keal is an exclusive event for residents of East Keal, West Keal and Keal Cotes.  We will be having our “Big Jubilee Lunch” by inviting residents to bring their own picnics and join together for a BBQ and refreshments.  There will also be a DJ for dancing.  Plus the Royal Scarecrow Display, Jubilee Themed Outdoor Games, a Big Red Double Decker Bus and a Raffle.  We will also have our own version of the “Last Night of the Proms” to end the event.

We have also organised The Keals’ Platinum Villager Award to be awarded to 3 residents who have been nominated by other residents for helping out, cutting the grass, putting the bins in and out, being a good neighbour, offering support etc.

Our fundraising has gone so well that we will also be able to donate to 6 local charities chosen by the committee.
