Friskney Parish Council - Vacancy for Cemetery Caretaker

Friskney Parish Council has a vacancy for a Cemetery Caretaker to start on 1st April 2024. Applications are invited from suitable persons for this valuable village role.

Actual contracted weekly hours are to be agreed with payment being made in line with the National Minimum Wage.

The purpose of the job is to ensure Friskney Cemetery is maintained to a very high standard at all times. Main responsibilities include:

• cutting and strimming all grass areas;

• trimming hedges as and when required;

• control weed growth in all planted areas as well as burial and ashes plots;

• remove and dispose of dead wreaths and memorial flowers;

• levelling of graves as required;

• notify the Parish Clerk of any damaged/broken headstones etc;

• keep paved areas clear of grass, weeds and moss;

• removal and disposal of any litter, recycling where possible;

• any other tasks that may be required from time to time.
